It’s designed to prevent feather-plucking in birds while still satisfying their preening urges. Sound familiar? I’ve been carrying one around my job (a pet store) and tearing the shit out of them and the sensation is very similar to pulling. I wound up buying one today and bringing it home. It’s a soft shreddable material compacted into links, which are easy to pull apart strand-by-strand.
